When you’re in band at the local level, you don’t (and shouldn’t) always have the option to be picky. Speaking for Polarizer, we love playing live shows so much that we will, for the most part, play anywhere and with anyone. We have played in basements, odd restaurants, and backyard venues in the rain, and before it sounds like I’m complaining about this; many of these turn out to be the most fun and exciting shows.

“I’m pumped to play these at Metro”
This is the last line from an email sent by Ben to Ian and me on August 20, 2011, two days after our last band played our last show at Club Metro in Chicago. Stan flew in from RI for the show, and sat next to me at the computer reading the email.
